Responsible AI
AI Transparency
How I use AI in my business, openly.
Last reviewed: July 2026
Why this page exists
I help people use AI thoughtfully and responsibly, so it is only fair that I am open about how I use it myself. This statement explains, in plain language, where AI is used in my business, how a human stays in charge, and how your information is looked after. It is written in the spirit of a responsible-use statement, and I will keep it up to date as things change.
What I use AI for
AI is a helpful assistant in my work, never the decision-maker. I use it to:
- Help draft and shape written content, which I then edit in my own voice.
- Speed up admin, research and organising ideas.
- Help build tools, guides and resources that I test and refine myself.
A human is always in charge
Everything that carries my name is reviewed and approved by me before it goes out. AI might help with a first draft or a rough idea, but the judgement, the final words and the responsibility are mine. I do not publish AI output as fact without checking it.
What I don't do
- I do not use AI to make decisions about people.
- I do not present unchecked AI content as if it were verified fact.
- I do not feed your personal or identifying information into public AI tools.
Your information and AI
When I work with AI tools, I am careful about what goes in. I keep personal details, client information and anything sensitive out of public AI tools, and I handle your information in line with my Privacy Policy.
Accuracy
AI tools can get things wrong or sound confident while being mistaken. That is exactly why a human checks the work. If you ever spot something that does not look right, please tell me at shelly@shellyduncan.com.au and I will look into it.
My commitment
Transparency, privacy and human judgement guide how I use AI. As the technology changes, I will keep practising what I teach, and keep this statement honest and current.
